SPARK WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP EDUCATIONAL BURSARY

Spark Women’s Leadership Educational Bursary

About the Bursary

The Spark Women’s Leadership Conference Society was established over a decade ago by a local group of business owners, executives, community leaders, and entrepreneurs who were frustrated at always having to travel out of the region for professional development. This group of women knew that Northeastern BC is a region with tremendous talent, energy, passion, and drive and the Spark Women’s Leadership Conference provides a unique, local opportunity for learning and connection.

In its continuing quest to support the ongoing professional growth and development of women in the community, Spark established an endowment fund in 2023 that will support the educational endeavours of the women of Northeastern BC through an educational bursary. The Spark Women’s Leadership Educational Bursary provides financial assistance to women for tuition, living expenses, and other school-related costs.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible candidates must be women at least 25 years old and enrolled in an accredited institution or association for continuing education. Candidates must also demonstrate financial need and be residents of Northeastern BC (or have intentions to return to the region).

Application Process

To apply, candidates must complete an application form demonstrating their financial need and participation in volunteer activities. Additionally, a 1,000-word essay must be submitted detailing the professional challenges the candidate has faced as a woman in the workforce and how they plan to support the ongoing professional success of other women, aligning with Spark’s mandate.

Deadline to Apply

Applications for the Spark Women’s Leadership Educational Bursary will be accepted beginning in September 2024. Please visit www.sharingthespark.com or follow the Spark Women’s Leadership Conference on social media when the application form and selection process will be made available.
